The LMI Team

Bill Corcoran entered the metal finishing industry in the nineties as President and CEO of Duralectra, Inc., a large anodizing job shop in Massachusetts and also as President and CEO of Sanford Processing Corporation, the owner of the "Sanford Process" which is a well-known hardcoat anodizing technology invented by Paul Sanford and John Franklin. Corcoran's technical background allowed him to quickly absorb the science and engineering of hardcoat anodizing and he steered Duralectra to be an engineering driven company with success as a Nadcap accredited shop, doing extensive aerospace, military and medical work. He is a former business school professor and also has taught courses in hardcoat anodizing for over ten years to employees, customers and consulting engineers.

Drew Corcoran joined Sanford Process Corporation in the late nineties as a technician and quickly moved from the lab to the production floor where he became chief process engineer for Duralectra. He also co-managed the quality team at Duralectra with the company's Director of Engineering. Together they managed the Nadcap accreditation team. Drew also headed the "lean" team for Duralectra and successfully reduced waste and achieved a 60% reduction in standard turn around time for customers.

Both Corcoran's have authored numerous papers and conducted original research. They have given presentations to AAC, AESF and the International Hard Anodizers Association. They currently run LightMetals Industries, which specializes in engineering, consulting and education in the metal finishing industry.

Also on the team is Boruch(Bill) Frusztajer, the original inventor of low voltage hardcoat anodizing rectifiers.   Bill Frusztajer is an advisor to the company, having spent his career as a power supply engineer and inventor of relevant technology in this field. Bill originally invented the "AC+DC Low voltage" rectifier in 1979 and held the patent on that technology until it expired in the 1990's. Bill serves as a valued advisor to the company.
