Education
Through its EDUCATION subsidiary, the LightMetals Institute, the company offers courses on the "Science and Engineering of Hardcoat Anodizing"and "Lean Metal Finishing".
The LightMetals Institute presents a comprehensive two-day program on the correct way to hardcoat anodize aluminum and its alloys, and much more. You will learn about aluminum alloys, the metallurgy of aluminum and its alloys, the electricity and chemistry necessary to do proper hardcoat anodizing and the electrochemistry of the process. The key to cash flow and profitability in today's environment is to use "best practices", "lean operating methods" and to apply sound and proper science and engineering to your operation. Control is the key.
Hardcoat anodizing is a sequential process where the success of every step depends on the proper execution of the prior step. We address how to do this. Among other important topics, included in the course is the correct steps and procedures for proper pre-treatment of the various alloys and methods to prepare aluminum alloys for obtaining the best results in the process bath. Following processing, a myriad of processes is available for post treatment including dyeing and sealing. Various methods that are used and popular today will be reviewed as well as some new technology that is just entering the market. There is technology available that helps lower costs while contributing to reduced emissions.
When problems occur, getting to the "root cause" is critical so you can get back on track fast. We will address quality systems, fault analysis, lean operating procedures and troubleshooting; with a critical eye to correct procedures of evaluation and root cause analysis.
This course will give attendees the skills and knowledge to achieve consistency and efficiency in the shop while providing information which can lower operating costs.
